Supporting you through mid-life and menopause

Hormone therapy, also called bioidentical hormone therapy or menopause hormone therapy can help manage the symptoms of hormone deficiency and improve your overall health and quality of life.

What is hormone therapy?

What is Hormone Therapy & What Symptoms Does It Help?

Hormone therapy may involve the use of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone to help replenish the natural decline of hormones. Hormone therapy can alleviate common and well-known symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, low libido, and genitourinary symptoms. Other symptoms that improve for many women include muscle aches and joint pain, weight gain, thinning hair, crepey skin and brain fog.

Timing is everything when it comes to disease prevention and hormones! When started early in the menopause transition, hormone therapy can reduce cardiovascular risks and it may prevent against osteoporosis.

A Contemporary Approach to Hormone Therapy

  • Start with an in -depth consultation to understand your symptoms, medical history, and goals. Together, we will conduct a thorough review of treatment risks and benefits based on your personal health history.

While laboratory testing is not necessary to confirm a diagnosis of menopause, it is important to evaluate certain health and hormone bio markers before beginning treatment.

  • Menopause care and hormone therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Your plan may include prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy, supplements, and lifestyle recommendations.

There is a range of prescription hormone therapy options available, including skin patches, creams, pills, and gels. Depending on your unique treatment plan, prescriptions may be filled at your local pharmacy or shipped to you from a compounding pharmacy.

  • Follow-up appointments are scheduled 8-10 weeks after initiating hormone therapy and again 3 months later. It is not uncommon to need adjustments to your treatment plan during the first several months of therapy. Secure and private text messaging between follow-up appointments gives you easy access to ask questions.

  • Do you perform gynecological exams? Grae Medical does not perform routine gynecological exams or procedures.

Do you accept health insurance? Grae Medical does not accept health insurance for payment.

In which states do you see patients? We serve patients in Florida both virtually and in person.
